There’s nothing like a hot dessert in the sukkah on a cold Sukkos night. This healthier version of the all-time favorite apple crumble is a real crowd-pleaser that everyone can enjoy. Serve warmed with a scoop of ice cream on top.

Yield: 1 9” round pan

Ingredients:

Base:

6 apples (I like to use a variety of types for different flavor), peeled and sliced thin

4 pears, peeled and sliced thin

Juice of ½ lemon

3 tablespoons 100% pure maple syrup

1 tablespoon arrowroot

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Crumble:

¾ cup almond flour

1 cup oats

¼ cup oil

⅔ cup coconut sugar

½ teaspoon cinnamon

Pinch salt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Prepare a 9-inch round pan.

Place apple and pear slices into baking dish.

Add lemon juice, maple syrup, arrowroot, and cinnamon and mix with fruit.

Cover and bake for 30 minutes.

Prepare crumble mixture by combining ingredients.

Put crumble over baked fruit and return to oven, uncovered, for another 30 minutes.

Serve warm or at room temperature.
