BMG Purchases Jackson School Campus for $40 Million
December 25, 2025

Beth Medrash Govoha purchased the Christa McAuliffe Middle School in Jackson for $40 million.
The property, located at 35 South Hope Chapel Road, is around 38 acres. It includes a two-story school building, originally constructed in 1993, encompassing 126,305 square feet. There are also five detached modular classrooms on site, consisting of an additional combined 3,500 square feet.
The school closed last June amid the Jackson School District’s ongoing restructuring and consolidation efforts, as it faced declining enrollment and a budget shortfall due to the state sharply slashing its funding. Earlier this year, the district sold the Sylvia Rosenauer Elementary School to Bais Yaakov of Jackson (a division of the Lakewood Cheder/Bais Faiga) for $13.1 million.
In September, the district announced it was opening bidding for the property, setting a minimum bid of $54.5 million, with bids due by October 15. But it couldn’t find a buyer at that price, so they revised the minimum bid to $44.4 million, with bids due by December 12. They couldn’t even get that price, as BMG came in with the winning bid at $40 million.
A BMG official told The Voice that the yeshivah hasn’t decided exactly what it will do with the property yet, but said, “There are various options that we’re looking at, and we plan on using this facility to the fullest extent.”
