Maple-Bourbon Burgers
Juicy grilled burgers, glazed with a sweet and savory maple bourbon sauce
Yield: 4 burgers
Ingredients:
1 onion, sliced thin
2 tablespoons oil
1 lb. ground meat
1 teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon black pepper
4 buns
lettuce and tomatoes, for serving
Maple-Bourbon Sauce
½ cup maple syrup
¼ cup bourbon
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Directions:
Caramelize onion in oil until soft and golden brown.
To prepare sauce, combine ingredients in small pot.
Simmer for 5–10 minutes.
Season meat with salt and pepper and form into 4 burgers.
Grill burgers for 4–5 minutes per side, or according to preference.
Glaze burgers with sauce for last minute.
Place burgers in buns and top with caramelized onions, lettuce, and tomatoes.
Drizzle with more maple-bourbon sauce and cover.
