Candied Honey Pastrami in Phyllo Cups

Bite-size, sweet, and delicious, this is another great recipe to start the sweet new year with.

 

Yield: 15 phyllo cups

 

Ingredients:

½ teaspoon oil

½ onion, chopped

½ cup honey

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

1 lb. deli pastrami, diced

 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Heat oil in a pan.

Sauté onion until soft and slightly browned.

Add honey, garlic, and cayenne pepper, if desired, and let it come to a gentle boil.

Add pastrami and mix well.

Fill phyllo shells with mixture.

Bake for 12–15 minutes.
