Mont Tremblant Resort is where the action is. Located right above Lac Tremblant, the resort has everything on site, including many hotels and vacation houses for lodging, activities, hiking trails, and shops.

The lower part of the mountain can be accessed by car. There are streets, hotels, and shops between the Tourist Center and the second half of the mountain.

There’s a free cable car that takes visitors from the Tourist Center to the landing where the Panoramic Gondola and area activities are. The cable car is open on the sides and passengers stand while being transported up. The cable car itself was fun to ride, and we enjoyed the views all around and even below us.

At the landing (cars can’t get all the way to the landing where the cable car ends), there are many activities and shops. The hiking paths also start there. There’s a sprinkler park in the summer for the children to enjoy. Ziptrek Ecotours zipline tour meets in that area, and the Luge track is there as well. The station to ride the Panoramic Gondola to the summit is also located right there. The views are magnificent!

There are also more activities on the resort, such as mini golf, virtual reality, Euro bungee jumping, and much more.

Chabad has a shul right near the resort. Both in the winter and the summer, many visitors join the very friendly rabbi, Rabbi Yisroel Mochkin, for minyan and the buffet-kiddush-lunch following davening on Shabbos. There’s no kosher food for purchase in Mont Tremblant.

We opted not to stay at the busy resort, instead we chose a quieter area that’s still within walking distance. We stayed in a development of ski condos. We enjoyed the three magnificent pools before we went out on trips. The pools were usually empty during the morning hours.

Skyline Luge

The Skyline Luge ride is definitely on the “Must Do” list when visiting Mont Tremblant.

This unique luge cart, which was invented in New Zealand, is found in only seven locations worldwide (two New Zealand locations, two South Korea locations, 1 Singapore location, and two locations in Canada). In 2003, Mont Tremblant was the first to have the Luge in North America.

The Luge is located right in the Pedestrian Village, adjacent to the beginning of the hiking paths. It’s open in the spring, summer, and fall seasons and is closed in the winter.

The first stop after the ticket booth is to be fitted with a helmet. The riders proceed to the chairlift (the luge carts are hooked onto the back of the seat) up the mountain to the Luge Track starting point. While heading up to the top of the track on the chairlift, there’s time to look around and enjoy the magnificent views all around.

It’s hard to describe what the Luge is. It’s part go-cart and part toboggan with three wheels. It propels riders down the mountain on a track with the force of gravity. Riders can control the direction and speed of the cart with the specially designed steering system and brakes. Minimum height to drive the luge is 110 cm (3’7”). Little children who reach 85 cm (2’8”) can ride with an adult.

The 1.4-km track with twists, turns, and tunnels takes drivers an average of seven minutes to descend through the Laurentian Forest to the Mont Tremblant Resort. The views all around are breathtaking!

Going down once just gives you an appetite for more. Skyline Luge recognizes this and sells tickets starting at two rides or more.

Reusseaux Hike: Mont Tremblant Resort

Since the gondola was temporarily closed during our visit to Mont Tremblant last summer, we wanted to take a hike with some pretty scenery even though we couldn’t hike at the summit. We took the Reusseux Trail, a loop trail that begins at the Mont Tremblant Resort right near the Luge.

After a few short minutes of walking, the trail leads into the woods and past a beautiful waterfall. There were benches placed near the waterfall where visitors can sit and enjoy the view. The trail continues a bit uphill, with some wooden steps aiding the incline. There were pockets of space between the trees, which allowed for scenic views of the resort and the mountains and lake beyond it.

The trail continued over a wooden bridge that crossed over the Luge track. The trail then led deeper into the woods, where we saw parts of the Tonga Lumina props. (The Tonga Lumina is a nighttime sensory walk in the forest.) We later crossed over to another trail that heads back to the resort. We hiked alongside a babbling stream and crossed over bridges that brought us back to another area in the Resort Village. The hike we took wasn’t especially long or arduous. It was the perfect blend of hiking and nature.

Ziptrek Ecotours

We went on the most awesome three-hour zipline trip with Ziptrek Ecotours in Mont Tremblant. With five large ziplines starting from the summit of the mountain and ending just above the Pedestrian Village, the ziplines are situated in a way that riders get to enjoy the most awesome views in the area.

We met up with our guides and checked in for our tour right in the Pedestrian Village. We were all harnessed and got acquainted with our guides who were both friendly and professional.

Since the zipline tour begins at the summit of the mountain, the tour guides usually take everyone up on the gondola. When we visited Mont Tremblant, the gondola wasn’t operating due to an accident with a construction worker. So instead of riding up in the gondola, the guides drove us up in pickup trucks.

The view from the summit blew us away. There was a magnificent 360-degree view of all the mountains in the area.

The zipline course began right at the top of the mountain. There are two lines side by side, and you get to enjoy the trip with someone else. The professional guides helped calm any fears, and everyone was glad to soar through the mountains and enjoy the magnificent view. Some of the ziplines connect immediately to the next one, while others require a bit of hiking before reaching the next platform.

This zipline tour allows children from age seven to join, and families can do it together. There’s no need to divide up and take the younger children elsewhere.

I highly recommend Ziptrek Ecotours as one of the top activities in the area. It’s fun and exhilarating, and the views can’t be beat.

A’Labordage Kayaking

We had such an amazing day kayaking on the scenic Devil’s River in Mont Tremblant with A’Labordage.

When we arrived at the A’labordage office, we were greeted by the friendly staff and checked in. We were fitted with life jackets and given safety instructions before we boarded the bus for the eight-minute ride up alongside the river to the launching spot. A’Labordage offers single kayaks, tandem kayaks, SUP boards, and canoes for the ride down the river. We chose tandem kayaks.

The helpful guides assisted us in bringing our boats of choice down to the river and helped us start out on our 11-km ride down the beautiful and scenic Devil’s River. Each party can go at their own pace back to the starting point by the office. There are signs posted along the way stating the number of kilometers covered so that you have an idea of how far you are from the beginning and from the end.

The river was calm and enjoyable. There are a few small areas of Class 1 rapids that made it even more fun.

The river has many nice areas and secluded beaches to stop at to take a break and swim or just relax.

The trip down the river should take approximately two hours but usually takes closer to three hours because of the many nice stops on the way. We stopped at one of the pebble beaches to enjoy a picnic lunch we brought along before we continued on our way. I couldn’t get enough of the scenic views on all sides.

When we were about halfway through, it started raining. There was no thunder, lightning, or dangerous conditions, so we just continued. We wore clothing that we were prepared to get wet in, so it really didn’t bother us that much. The only difference was that we stopped less than we would have.

As a family, all of us, no matter the age, enjoyed the kayaking immensely. It was a natural and fun experience with some adventure in the mix as well. I highly recommend it.

Parc Daniel Lauzon

I like to check out the local parks whenever I visit an area. Mont Tremblant doesn’t have many playgrounds. Parc Daniel Lauzon is not a very large park, but it does have some great features, such as a splash pad and a long slide off the sidewalk going down into the park. When we visited, the slide was closed off. I’m not sure if it has since been reopened. There are two climbing structures (both on the smaller side) and some swings. The playground area is set in soft beach sand that children like to play in.

There’s also a basketball court and a large covered outdoor concrete arena that’s an ice-skating rink in the winter. When we were there in the summer, it was being used for a soccer game.

Although the park is small, there’s still a lot to do.

Parc National du Mont-Tremblant

Mont Tremblant National Park is a magnificent haven of nature. Unfortunately, people often miss this beautiful national park by focusing on the Mont Tremblant Resort Mountain and its hype. The national park, located in the northeast of Mont-Tremblant, covers 1,510.1 square kilometers (583.1 square miles). Aside from its beautiful views and many hiking paths, the site offers a playground, boat rental, and bike rental.

The activities at the national park are very well priced (as opposed to the more touristy pricing at the resort).

We spent a day at Mont Tremblant National Park when we were in the area. Just entering the national park flooded our senses with its raw beauty. We pulled over at a picnic area near a beautiful creek to enjoy lunch. After finishing our lunch and dipping our feet into the cool water, we headed to the bike and boat rentals.

Some family members opted for bikes, while others decided to enjoy a boat ride with the younger children on the picturesque lake. We chose an interesting paddle boat with four seats. The boat had two ski-like gliders on the bottom to help move it along. I’d never seen such a boat before. The boat rental also offered kayaks and SUPs for rent.

Our next stop was the playground near the beach area. There are fun climbing structures and many picnic tables in that area.

The weather was overcast, but we really wanted to see some more of the park’s beauty. We asked one of the guides for a recommendation of a short but rewarding hike. He recommended the hike to the Chute du Diable (Devil’s Falls), so we drove off to the parking lot at the trailhead. The Chute du Diable hike was just what we were looking for: a short hike along the water with an overlook across a huge, magnificent waterfall at the end.

After the hike, we headed back with the feeling that we had spent a fun day surrounded by undisturbed nature.

Sentier des cimes Laurentides

While searching online for something unique to do in the Mont Tremblant area, I came across The Sentier des cimes Laurentides, the 40-meter-tall panoramic tower (equivalent to 12 stories) with incredible views of the surrounding Laurentian mountain range as far as the eye can see.

The Treetop Walk and Panoramic Tower opened in July of 2022. We visited just after the first anniversary. The Treetop Walk is an incredible concept of a ramp-like path built at the height of the treetops. The walk starts with a smaller tower, at 25 meters high. That tower has an elevator. The ramp leading from the smaller tower to the panoramic tower is built on a consistent incline of six degrees. The incline is small and consistent, so it isn’t strenuous, but it takes you higher above the trees the whole time. The walkway height reaches 18 meters. The total length of the walkway is 1,350 meters. Since the walkway is in essence a ramp, it’s 100 percent accessible for families and people with special needs. Spread throughout the walkway are interesting fact tidbits and small activities for kids to enjoy. Children can also challenge themselves with the scavenger hunt offered.

The Panoramic Tower has a circular ramp leading from floor to floor with open sides so that the views are open and unobstructed throughout the climb up. At the very top of the Panoramic Tower is a giant (really strong) hanging net in the center, suspended 40 meters above the ground. Brave visitors get to walk on it and feel the thrill of being suspended high above the ground.

Once on top, the 360-degree views of the area and beyond are breathtaking. Mont-Tremblant and Mont-Blanc are among the mountain peaks seen from the tower. Sentier des cimes Laurentides was a unique experience enjoyed by the young and old in our party. It was an original and fun way to enjoy the view.
