Information We Collect

Account information

You sign in with Google or Apple. When you do, we receive your email address from that provider. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive a private relay address instead of your real one. During onboarding we ask for your name (required) and, optionally, a phone number.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device’s location to show local zmanim and to sort nearby minyanim by distance. Your location is used only while you are using those features and is not stored on our servers. You can decline or revoke location access at any time in your device settings; the app remains usable without it.

Content you submit

You can submit information about events (such as the names of the celebrants, the venue, and the date) and about shuls and minyan times. This information is visible to other users of the app. You can also upload a photo of an event invitation. Uploaded invitation images are used only to automatically extract the event details from the image; the image itself is not shown to other users and is not retained after the details are extracted.

Optional phone number and reminders

If you provide a phone number, it may be used to send you SMS reminders about events. This reminder feature may not be active in all versions of the app. Providing a phone number is entirely optional, and the app works fully without one.

How We Use Information

• To create and manage your account and sign you in.
• To show you minyanim, events, and zmanim, including results near your location.
• To let you submit and share community content (events and shul information).
• To send you reminders you’ve opted into by providing a phone number, where that feature is available.
• To keep the app working reliably, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse.

Service Providers

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the app. Information is shared with them only as needed to provide the service:

• Supabase — hosts our database and stores your account, saved events, and the community content described above.
• Google and Apple — provide sign-in; we receive your email address (or an Apple private relay address) through them.
• Anthropic — when you upload an invitation image, the image is sent to Anthropic’s Claude service to read and extract the event details. The image is not retained after processing.
• Hebcal — provides zmanim (halachic times); we send a location and date to retrieve the correct times.
• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — converts addresses and place names into map locations for venue and shul lookups.
• Vercel — hosts the web version of the app.
• An SMS provider — if and when SMS reminders are active, and only if you have provided a phone number, your number is shared with our SMS delivery provider to send those reminders.
• Error-monitoring tools — we may use diagnostic and crash-reporting tools to identify and fix technical problems in the app.

Your Rights and Choices

• Delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app (the Delete Account option). Deleting your account removes your profile and associated personal data.
• Location. You can grant or revoke location access in your device settings.
• Phone number. Providing a phone number is optional, and you can leave it blank or remove it.
• Access and correction. You can update your profile information in the app, or contact us using the details below with any request regarding your information.

Data Retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your associated personal data. Invitation images are not retained after the event details are extracted from them. Your location is not stored.

Children’s Privacy

VoiceLink is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, and our service providers maintain their own security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
