Mediterranean Burgers

This is just what you need when your family is starting to get bored of all your usual suppers. Give your burgers a little twist and pair them with mashed potatoes and a quick Israeli salad for a delicious, “different” supper.

Yield: 16 small patties


1 lb. ground meat

1 teaspoon paprika

2 teaspoons za’atar

2 teaspoons shawarma spice

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1 onion, sliced


Heat a pan over medium heat.

In a bowl, mix meat and spices together and form small patties. Flatten, spray each side with cooking spray, and place in pan. Cook for about 2½ minutes on each side.

Add sliced onions to the pan and sauté in the drippings.

Serve patties topped with onions.
